Amos, Janine and Spenceley, Annabel
Published by Cherrytree (Good Friends series), 2003
One of a series of books about children's feelings and emotions, full of bright multicultural illustrations and solutions to the sometimes irrational ways that children interact. Each book has two stories, and in this one we meet Josh, who has a new rabbit and is showing it to his friend Liam. But when Liam holds Bouncer, he squeezes and frightens him, and Josh must show Liam how to hold the rabbit carefully. In the second story toddler Sasha finds a tube of toothpaste and makes an almighty mess. When older sister and mum find her, they decide to explain what toothpaste is used for. Good psychology and simple sentences make the stories approachable. Useful for PSHE and Citizenship lessons.
