No worries! ISBN: 9780744577549

A wonderfully busy, zany picture book. I've assessed it for six year olds and above because the strip cartoon pictures could be confusing to younger children. They are dotty and clever and great fun, but very busy. The little boy worries about myriads of things - the dark, monsters, that his birthday will be forgotten, that Father Christmas will be off sick, etc. On and on it goes, and he admits that sometimes he bites his nails or sucks his thumb because the worries get to him so. When he finally goes to mum, pushing his huge box of worries, she talks with him about each one and they go away. The book takes a lot of looking at. The pictures have so much detail - even to the borders - and there is solid text interspersed with the strip cartoons. Take it slowly and carefully. Will repay many readings.
