Baby Elephant can't sleep because he has lost his teddy. Elmer, the patchwork elephant, loans him his own teddy, and promises to help find the lost one. During his trawl through the forest, he meets all sorts of other baby animals, each of whom has his own special teddy, and when Baby Elephant's teddy is found, the point is made that 'all teddies are special, especially your own'. The exotic, brilliant pictures in the Elmer books are always a treat.
