Sophie is missing her daddy. He is a sailor on a long voyage, and the text of this story is Sophie's letters to him. The words are simple and to the point, but the pictures are a riot of detail, showing in the larger strip at the bottom of each double-page layout, Sophie's her mother's and brother's life at home, while the smaller pictures at the top show dad's activities on board ship. The last page has a happy reunion between father and daughter.
