Based on the TV series 'Bear in the Big Blue House, this boardbook, simple though it is, gets all the needed facts across to a child learning to use the toilet. And it is a toilet in use here, not a potty. Ojo is getting ready to go to a friend's house to play, but when Bear reminds her that she might need the toilet before going, she agrees. She needs some help getting onto the toilet and, later, she needs help reaching the loo paper. Afterwards she is reminded to flush, but remembers herself to wash her hands. Bear tells her what to do if she needs the loo at her friend's house and that is really all there is to the book... except that it has flaps and wheels and pull-tabs and is great fun! The engineering is first rate, and we can make the soap all bubbly in the water and watch the water go down the pan. Great stuff!
