George has found a cardboard house, and he refuses to let anyone else in. The children all try, one by one, but he is adamant that no girls can use it, nor small people, nor twins, nor people with glasses. When George finally has to leave because he must go to the toilet, the other children take up residence, and he must learn that 'this house is for everyone'. The illustrations are quirky - the children in the action at any given moment are portrayed in full colour, while the surrounding busy-ness is in a muted brown wash. An excellent marrying of text and picture, and a nice lesson in sharing.
